A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

AA89A is a platformer Borderlands :) Well, I didn't start to design it that way. But at the end of the design process, I realized that the futuristic environment and module developer company profiles resemble Borderland series.

Anyway, AA89A is a platformer bullet-hell game where you play as a test bot in Standard Module Co (SMc) labs. SMc develops a new game-changing AI module prototype and tests it on you. With the first electrons flowing on the AI module, you realize your whole senseless life locked in a lab and forced to test stupid chips. You need to get out and find a safe place. Unfortunately, everyone is after that AI module prototype :(

There are 7 module manufacturers in the game. Each manufacturer has its own characteristic and product variety. In the test pad prototype, only 3 module manufacturers and a small number of necessary modules are included.

In the actual game, players can pause the game and go to the bot design screen anytime they want. Main flow of the game (which is illustrated in the figure above) is as follows.

  1. Bot moves forward, passes obstacles and traps.
  2. Screen freezes and enemies attack wave by wave.
  3. After several step 1s and 2s, a boss attacks.

In the test pad, you can remove unnecessary modules by moving them to the trashcan. Turret controller lets you to simulate a dangerous environment. Refill your battery and health by standing under the related station. To open/close the module catalogue, use the button left to the turret controller switch. Use mouse to connect a module's output to another module's input. On the keyboard, WASD and arrow keys are horizontal and vertical inputs. Fire inputs are Fire1 (left mouse or left ctrl), Fire2 (right mouse or left alt), Fire3 (middle mouse or left cmd) and Fire4 (space). Controllers are recommended :)
